   Heather Dixon weaves a beautiful, magical tale in Entwined. Promises must be kept at all costs and love is more powerful than anything.

   The twelve princesses would do anything for each other and the eldest, Azalea, will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Especially after she promises her ill mother, on silver, that she would.

   The story begins with Azalea's first ball. The ball ends tragically, leaving the princesses in mourning. They have to dress in black for a year, they can't leave the palace for a year, and worse than anything, they can't dance. For a year.

   Dancing means everything to Azalea and her sisters. And a watchful eye knows that.

   Azalea discovers a magical, silver forest, a place where no one will know if the girls are dancing or fast asleep. And every night, the girls slip into the forest - to dance.

   All under the ever-watching eyes of the Keeper, who is more dangerous than he seems at first. Soon its too late for Azalea to back out, she's entangled in his web, and her family's lives, all twelve of them, lie in her hands.


   Like Azalea, I too was entangled in this entrancing story before I knew it. I just couldn't put it down. I loved Azalea and her sisters and the love they share for one another. As the oldest of four, I felt like I could relate to her in many ways, though I don't know what I would have done with eleven siblings!! I envied her courage and strength to stand up to those who got in the way of her sisters' happiness and freedom. Written in the third person point of view, Entwined reminded me of the classic fairytale - in an extended length.

   If you're looking for a beautiful, magical, and at the same time, a compelling story, Entwined is the perfect book for you.

-Would I recommend this to anyone? Probably ages 12 and up

-Is there a second book? I don't think so
-Will I be looking forward to book two? If there is, then YES!

I love the cover, it's got a lot of depth to it. The castle in the distance, represents Azalea's home to me. And the foliage surrounding the girl, who seems lost, feels like the magical forest. And I love the swirly font of the title!
