When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her to the Louvre...to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria...to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own--scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving "the life" for a normal life proves harder than she'd expected.

Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring her back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has good reason: a powerful mobster's art collection has been stolen, and he wants it returned. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat’s father isn’t just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.

For Kat there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it’s a spectacularly impossible job? She’s got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family’s (very crooked) history--and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

It happens often: I pick up a book not knowing what to expect. What doesn't happen very often: I pick up a book without even reading what its about. All I knew of Heist Society was from the cover... and the title of course.

The rest, was a surprise. A surprise I liked. Because Heist Society is just as good as everyone said it would be.

Ally Carter's writing style created crystal-clear images in my head that, at the same time, left me with room to imagine things the way I wanted. I liked that. Among other things... Kat is an awesome main character - she's not extremely tall and outright gorgeous. She's petite and your average girl, only with the instinct of a thief.

A thief who left the life to try an live a normal one. Of course, it doesn't work, and she ends up being kicked out of Colgan School, a prestigious school where Kat expertly conned her way into.

With the gorgeous Hale and her teenage crew, Kat has to do what she's never done before. Rob a place no one's robbed before. Except for a legendary person she's pretty sure doesn't exist. But more than that, she's stealing for a reason she's never had before. Because sometimes, it takes a thief to catch a thief.

The whole story, from the deadline to the many places Katarina Bishop visited, was well-written and intriguing. Though I'm pretty sure I'm the last person in the world to read Heist Society, I highly recommend it if you haven't!

The cover was what I based the story to be about, as I never read what it is about.
So... I love it!
