One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

Richly woven with threads of intricate twists, Insurgent is a worthy follow up to the highly-acclaimed Divergent by #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth. Though its length may seem intimidating to some, the book will be devoured within hours.

Insurgent takes off right where Divergent left off. Only seconds transpire between the novels, though a year has passed for us readers. The twists and turns will pick you off your feet in a whirlwind of action, betrayals, and unpredictable plots. Through it all, Veronica Roth manages to weave in words for thought, truths about human nature we don't always realize. Veronica Roth put time, effort, and research into her work - Insurgent is evidence of that.

Tris (Beatrice) is as headstrong as ever, even after learning truths enough to break her. She's observant enough that we see the world around her with astounding clarity along with the insight of a sixteen-year-old girl.

Overall, Insurgent is an incredible must-read. Divergent fanatics won't be disappointed with the much-awaited sequel. Simply put, Insurgent is unputdownable, and you'll want to pick up your copy ASAP.

  10. Oh my gosh!!!!! I FINALLY READ INSURGENT!!! I got it for my birthday (early July), and never actually read it because I was scared as to how it would turn out. But, I sat myself down last week and read it. So glad I did. Many, many second-in-the-series books do not meet up to the standards of the first book. I'll say that I like Divergent more than Insurgent, but Insurgent definitely held up the tandards that I had. BOOK THREEEEEE!!!!!!!
    Thanks for the review!
