PROJECT CAIN by Geoffrey Girard - Cover Reveal and Giveaway

I'm excited. Really, really excited. This isn't just another cover reveal. It's an awesome sounding book and the cover? Let's just say it's a freaking masterpiece. PROJECT CAIN (Simon & Schuster, September 2013), Geoffrey Girard's YA 2013 debut, is a standalone techno-thriller that sounds nothing short of amazing. So of course, I am stoked to reveal its eye-catching cover! Scroll down to read the synopsis, check out the cover, and enter to win an ARC of his book (open internationally)!

Sixteen-year-old Jeff Jacobson had never heard of Jeffrey Dahmer, the infamous serial killer who brutally murdered seventeen people more than twenty years ago.

But Jeff's life changes forever when the man he'd thought was his father hands him a government file telling him he was constructed in a laboratory only seven years ago, part of a top-secret government cloning experiment called 'Project CAIN.' There, he was created entirely from Jeffrey Dahmer's DNA. There are others like Jeff -- those genetically engineered directly from the most notorious murderers of all time: The Son of Sam, The Boston Strangler, Ted Bundy... even other Jeffrey Dahmer clones. Some raised, like Jeff, in caring family environments; others within homes that mimicked the horrific early lives of the men they were created from.

When the most dangerous boys are set free by the geneticist who created them, the summer of killing begins. Worse, these same teens now hold a secret weapon even more dangerous than the terrible evil they carry within. Only Jeff can help track the clones down before it's too late.

But will he catch the 'monsters' before becoming one himself?

Geoffrey Girard is an award-winning dark fiction author whose works have appeared in publications including Writers of the Future (a 2003 winner) and, most recently, the Stoker-nominated Dark Faith anthology. His first book, Tales of the Jersey Devil, thirteen original tales based on American folklore, was published in 2005, followed by Tales of the Atlantic Pirates (2006) and Tales of the Eastern Indians (2007). Born in Germany and shaped in New Jersey, Geoffrey graduated from Washington College with a literature degree and worked as an advertising copywriter and marketing manager, later shifting to high school English teacher. Since, he’s earned an MA in Creative Writing from Miami University and is currently the English Department Chair at a famed private boys school in Ohio. He presents seminars and workshops on creative writing at colleges, schools, bookstores and writers' organizations and can also be spotted speaking at various conventions. Geoffrey is married and has two teenaged sons.

Alongside PROJECT CAIN, in September Simon & Schuster will also publish CAIN’S BLOOD, a complementary and stand-alone techno thriller novel which explores more of the mysteries surrounding ‘Project Cain’ and focuses on characters and events framing Jeff Jacobson’s more personal journey/adventure.

  2. First time I've heard about this, and it sounds fantastic. I just got into Dexter, and it's one of my favourite shows now, and this book kinda reminds of it, like good serial killers taking down bad serial killers. AWESOME!

    2. Janita, just typed a reply but my phone's spellchecker changed all kinds of things (incorrectly, of course!!), so let me try again ;) If you haven't read the Dexter books, you should!! Since you like the TV show, I think you'd like them. The first is the best, as often happens. I read it as soon as it was released and absolutely loved it. Same with the second, though it wasn't quite as good. You're right in that this book has a hint of that premise behind it too! Sounds great to me!

  10. I've been into Serial Killers for about 5 years now, I was very into Jeffrey Dahmer when I was younger. Then when I learned that this book is about a clone of Jeffrey Dahmer and him going around getting other serial killer clones I fell in love. This is making my heart pound fast just thinking about Jeff Dahmer killing Ted Bundy!
