Blog Hop (4) and Follow Friday (5)

Posted by on October 15, 2010
Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop is a meme sponsored by Jennifer at Crazy For Books.
My answer to this week’s Blog Hop question:

When you read a book that you just can’t get into, do you stick it out and
keep reading or move to your next title?

I don’t pick up books that seem boring, but if I can’t get into a book,
I usually keep reading.

And…(of course) its Follow Friday

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View.
This week’s question is:

What’s your reading suggestion this week?

I suggest reading I am Number Four, by Pitticus Lore, which I am currently reading.
If you’ve already read that, try The Prophecy of the Sisters, by Michelle Zink.

Follow me, and leave a link so I can follow you back!

  1. Hi, I'm now following you.
I really enjoyed The Prophecy of the Sisters and just this afternoon I bought my copy of the second book.I'm looking forward in reading I am Number Four and I'll watch the movie next year. Have a great day.

  2. Hiya! So glad you came to find me. I'm following you back now :) I'm going to take you up on the Number Four book. I saw the preview for the movie this weekend and it looked SO GOOD. I'll have to read the book first now!

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog and becoming a follower! I'm following you back!

I think I'll have to put the two books you suggested on my TBR list – not that it isn't long enough…

Have a great weekend! Love your background!

  4. Hopping by to say HI!

I'm hearing great things about Number Four. I need to read it soon!

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Happy Follow Friday!!! Hope you will stop by my blog too! My publisher and I are looking for a group of bloggers for a huge blog tour next year before the release of book two in my 'A Sense of Truth' series! We will be giving out a few more copies of The Thirteenth Chime (we can only give out so many, being open to e-books gives an upper hand) and are still open to all interviews and guest posts. We want to fill up the Amazon page with reviews and try to reach as many people as we can!!! Hope you might consider being a part of the team! Thank you either way!

    Sincerely,

  6. New follower here. I used to read all the way through a book even if I couldn't get into it. I read the Corrections years ago and couldn't stand. I thought, “what's with the hype.” These days 50-60 pages is a good measuring stick for me. If I can't get into by then, it's time to put the book aside or pass it along to someone else. Happy reading!

  7. Luckily I've not yet met a book I didn't like since I started reviewing. I'm pretty sure if I was specifically requested to review a book, I'd make myself read the whole thing even if I hated it. If it was something I picked up myself, though, I wouldn't review it if I didn't finish, but I don't know that I'd force myself to stick through the whole thing. Still, even if you hate something, I suppose there must be some redeeming qualities, and something to learn from the book, right? Best of luck in your future selections :)

  8. I have a hard time stepping away from a book and can honestly say that it has been only recently that I have sat a couple aside. I plan on going back to them though if I get in the right mood to read them.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

  9. Happy HOP! Usually it's a matter of mood and timing for me. If I'm not feeling a connection, I postpone the read for another time. If reading the book feels more like a chore and I'd rather go scrub my toilets that's code for “step away from the book” I read for fun and blog how the book made me feel and how excited I am by it. Enjoy your weekend :)

    Come HOP by and visit

  10. Hi Hafsah! Thanks for dropping by! I'm your latest follower! :) I see that you're reading I Am Number Four. I've been thinking of reading it since I heard that it will be made into a movie. Cant wait to hear what you think about it! I've never met anyone who is homeschooled. I wonder what it's like for you! Nice to meet you!
