Waiting on Wednesday (84) — EVE AND ADAM by Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant

Posted by on May 2, 2012
“Waiting On” Wednesday spotlights upcoming releases that everyone’s excited about (created by Jill at Breaking The Spine.)

Eve and Adam

Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, EmmaRose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible.

While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything… until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely.

EVE AND ADAM will be released on October 2nd, 2012 by Feiwel and Friends.

  1. Wow, this book really sounds intriguing! I definitely like the idea of her discovering all these secrets about the place she has been born and raised in and having her mother behind it too, oh the conflict!!
I also love that cover! Thanks for sharing, Hafsah!

  2. This was my pick a few weeks ago! I was so glad I got a copy. I was told by the publacist that it is actually really funny. Which totally surprised me! It looks like its gonna be really good tho! Awesome pick this week! :)

    1. Actually, he's been “unofficially” collaborating with his wife, his name just hasn't appeared on a book. They co-wrote the Animorphs series (well… the early ones, the end ones and all the extra ones like Megamorphs – the rest were ghostwritten). I'm not sure about Everworld and later series, though.
