Until the day I met John Smith, Number Four, I’d been on the run alone, hiding and fighting to stay alive.

Together, we are much more powerful. But it could only last so long before we had to separate to find the others. . .

I went to Spain to find Seven, and I found even more, including a tenth member of the Garde who escaped from Lorien alive. Ella is younger than the rest of us, but just as brave. Now we’re looking for the others–including John.

But so are they.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They caught me in New York–but I escaped.
I am Number Six.
They want to finish what they started.
But they’ll have to fight us first.

Just as fast the rest, The Rise of Nine is a worthy follow up to the first two novels in the six-book series titled The Lorien Legacies. Told from the viewpoint of three very different members of the Garde, the story alternates in not just viewpoints, but emotions as well.

The Rise of Nine takes off right where The Power of Six ends, just minutes after. The Garde (the remaining ‘numbers’) are scattered and desperately trying to get together.

There isn’t much to say about The Rise of Nine, aside from the fact that it is just like its predecessors – pulse-pounding, emotional, and an all around fast-paced page-turner. The ending was abrupt, but it was expected.

The Rise of Nine lacks in nothing. I expected the three viewpoints to be annoying, distracting, and maybe even confusing. But in the end, I realized it was actually pretty refreshing. There was only one instance where I was thrown off, but the change in font put me back on track. Plot-wise, it didn’t progress as much as I expected, but it did move.

All in all, The Rise of Nine is a must-read for all fans of the hit I Am Number Four series. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one!

I wondered where this book fit in. I wasn't sure which was first the power of 6 or the rise of nine. I loved I am number four. Thanks for the review. The action was part of why I loved the first book. This story is different including the author thanks for the review.
