Living in the aftermath of the Event means that seeing the dead is now a part of life, but Veronica wishes that the ghosts would just move on. Instead, the ghosts aren’t disappearing–they’re gaining power. When Veronica and her friend, Kirk, decide to investigate why, they stumble upon a more sinister plot than they ever could have imagined. One of Veronica’s high school teachers is crippled by the fact that his dead daughter has never returned as a ghost, and he’s haunted by the possibility that she’s waiting to reappear within a fresh body. Veronica seems like the perfect host. And even if he’s wrong, what’s the harm in creating one more ghost?
From critically acclaimed Generation Dead author Daniel Waters, comes a delectably creepy and suspenseful thriller. Break My Heart 1,000 Times will leave readers with the chills. Or is that a ghost reading over the page?

Veronica and her mother live with the ghost of her father. Ever since the Event, you can find ghosts at every corner. Veronica wishes that they would just move on and leave the living alone, but that’s not happening, if anything, the ghost are getting stronger. Then things take a turn for the worse, on an “extra credit” project Veronica’s friend Kirk figures out about a plot that chills him to the bone. August Bittner, their high school history teacher, believes that if he murders a teenage girl, on Feburuary 29th, his beloved Eva will return to him, and he could live the rest of his life in happiness. And Veronica is just the perfect victim. Will Veronica live to see March?

BREAK MY HEART 1,000 TIMES is a book that will leave you astounded. The beginning was kind of slow and confusing to me and I had even thought of reading a different book. Lucky for me, I read on. The characters stood out and I really like Veronica’s best friend, Janine. The other thing that I didn’t like about the book was that I knew what would happen next, since the story wasn’t just following Veronica. Although BREAK MY HEART 1,000 TIMES doesn’t really have any surprises it is still awesome.

I loved the plot of this story, I haven’t read anything like it before. But then, I haven’t really read any books with ghosts in them. Filled with unsolved murders, ghosts, and leap years, BREAK MY HEART 1,000 TIMES is a unique read!

Sounds promising. I really like that cover (those tallies faded into the cover are affecting!). I've only read one ghosty book before, which I didn't really like because there was a romance aspect to it. Luckily this does not sound like this book goes down that path.

First off, the cover is awesome. I love it. And I like the premise, but to me it sounds a little like Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready. Maybe I am just crazy. Either way, it doesn't matter because I haven't read it so I can't compare. I will definitely be reading this one if I can get my hands on it though. No doubt! Thanks for the review!
