The greatest warrior in all of the Seven Kingdoms… is a girl with yellow eyes.

Kira’s the only female in the king’s army, and the prince’s bodyguard. She’s a demon slayer and an outcast, hated by nearly everyone in her home city of Hansong. And, she’s their only hope…

Murdered kings and discovered traitors point to a demon invasion, sending Kira on the run with the young prince. He may be the savior predicted in the Dragon King Prophecy, but the missing treasure of myth may be the true key. With only the guidance of the cryptic prophecy, Kira must battle demon soldiers, evil shaman, and the Demon Lord himself to find what was once lost and raise a prince into a king.

Intrigue and mystery, ancient lore and action-packed fantasy come together in this heart-stopping first book in a trilogy.

Filled with action and a (tad-confusing) prophecy, Ellen Oh’s debut novel will have you at the edge of your seat. Combining breathtaking elements of fantasy and rich Korean folklore – PROPHECY is unique at it’s finest.

As soon as I read the synopsis I knew I had to read PROPHECY, demon invasions and the greatest warrior is a girl? I was hooked. I loved the way how Ellen Oh started the story, she didn’t waste too much time in explaining the world, but she gave enough so that you’d understand it. Kira is a character I grew to love, she was brave and took the meanness of other people without breaking down. The only thing that I didn’t like about Kira was that she never tried to make friends. It was like she liked to be isolated and alone. But I guess that’s just how she is.

Ellen Oh has a unique writing style. She knows how to write a fantastic debut, and some authors can’t even write a good novel even after they’ve written their fifth novel. The ending took me by surprise – I just didn’t see that coming at all, one of the many things I love about this book. In a few words, PROPHECY is a blend of action, a ruby (you can even see it on the cover!), and bravery.

The cover is really nice, I like how the smoke and the tiny dragon surrounds the ruby. All in all, PROPHECY was an fantastic read and I can’t wait for the second book in The Dragon Kings Chronicles, currently titled WARRIOR.

I was hooked on the synopsis on this book. Everyone was talking about it on twitter so I checked it out, and immediately downloaded it for my Nook. Gonna finish up Venom, read the Diviners and then get to Prophecy! Great review!

I'm so happy to see this positive review. I was very excited for this book, but then I saw all the mixed reviews and I lost a bit of my interest. After reading this, I got my excitement back and I will read it soon! :D Demonslaying and warrior girls always sound good to me.

I have an ARC, but I have yet to open it, because I got the ARC a few days before the book came out, and I figure, might as well wait for my finished copy to come!!! Great review!!! I've seen good and a lot of not so good ratings, so I'm glad you liked this one :)

I'm not a big fan of the fantasy genre but I love how unique this sounds, but I have to say, the confusing part doesn't exactly having to get myself a copy. Maybe one day. Great review :)
