THE MIRK AND MIDNIGHT HOUR by Jane Nickerson (WoW #130)

Posted by on March 20, 2013

Waiting On Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that everyone’s excited about!
The Mirk and Midnight Hour (Strands of Bronze and Gold, #2)

Jane Nickerson’s second novel, also set in the “Strands” world, is based on the Scottish ‘Ballad of Tam Lin,’ and is set in Mississippi during the Civil War. Violet Dancey, a 17-year-old whose father has left to fight in the Civil War, is forced to confront Thomas, a hurt Union solider near her home. She must decide how to approach the enemy–and how to deal with her growing attraction to him

THE MIRK AND MIDNIGHT HOUR will be released March 2014 from Random House.

While this is technically the second book to STRANDS OF BRONZE AND GOLD, it doesn’t have to be read one after the other. THE MIRK AND MIDNIGHT HOUR seems to another retelling set in the same world. I loved STRANDS OF BRONZE AND GOLD, so I’m pretty excited!
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

  1. I just got Strands of Bronze and Gold, and can't wait to read it. The Mirk and Midnight Hour sounds amazing. Not too many books based upon the legendary Scottish Ballad of Tam Lin!

  2. Wow, I thought her first book just came out! That's crazy that they already have a cover and blurb for the second book already. I haven't read Strands of Bronze and Gold, but I've heard great things. Definitely need to pick it up. Both of the covers are gorgeous.
