Rory Miller thought her life was over when a serial killer set his sights on her and forced her into witness protection. But a fresh start on Juniper Landing Island was exactly what she and her family needed. For the first time in years she and her sister hang out at the beach, gossip about boys, and party together. She’s also made friends with a local clique–including a magnetic and mysterious boy named Tristan.
But Rory’s world is about to change again. Picturesque Juniper Landing isn’t what it seems. The truth about the swirling fog that rolls in each morning, the bridge that leads to nowhere, and those beautiful locals who seem to watch Rory’s every move is more terrifying than being hunted by Steven Nell. And all Rory ever wanted was the truth. Even if it means learning that she can never go home again. From the best-selling author of the Private and Privilege series comes the second novel in a heart-stopping trilogy about a girl who must pick up the pieces after the only life she’s ever known ends.
Lies, eternity, and betrayals HEREAFTER is a pulse-pounding sequel that will leave you breathless for more.
Rory Miller though her life was over when serial killer, Steve Nell, comes after her. But things have changed and it just so happens to be that Mr. Nell wasn’t her biggest problem. Because underneath Juniper Landing’s bright facade lies something much more darker and sinister. If Rory doesn’t get to the strange happenings at Juniper Landing, her life will be at stake more than ever.
HEREAFTER picks up right where SHADOWLANDS left us, and right from the very first page, Kate Brian once again manages to stun us with a thrilling sequel. Kate Brian writes like a pro. Captivating, flowing, and indulging from start to finish. Her explanations about Rory’s new life were short yet easy to understand. And the place – Juniper Landing – was beautifully and vividly described.
I learned alot about some of the characters that weren’t that important in SHADOWLANDS. And quite a lot of them have big secrets. I love how Rory changed since her arrival, she’s become stronger and smarter.
It’s difficult to say much about HEREAFTER without spoiling the equally compelling first book. And we wouldn’t that to happen, would we? So all I can say is that you have to read the Shadowland series, its different from other YA novels and will have you edgy throughout the book.
The one problem I have with the Shadowland’s series so far? All of them just have to end abruptly, and leave us confused, worried, and gawking. It’s beautiful, despite the fact that I’m left frustrated because I’ll have to wait forever. *sigh*
