MAGNOLIA by Kristi Cook (WoW #169)

Waiting On Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that everyone’s excited about!

In this modern-day twist on Romeo and Juliet set in small-town Mississippi, a 17 year old girl must cope with tragedy while trying to remember why she hated her Romeo in the first place.

MAGNOLIA releases on August 5th 2014 from Simon & Schuster.

Following the theme of last week’s WoW pick. I’m all for anything Romeo & Juliet! What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Ooh, this sounds like a good contemporary. *Adds on Goodreads* And there’s something about the way the characters look on the cover that I’m digging. Nice pick!

I have to say that so far I didn’t have much luck with Romeo and Juliet retellings, but I’ve heard that Kristi Cook has good sense for humor, so I’m going to wait for this one too.

As much as I like the Romeo and Juliet concept, this doesn’t give much away as of yet, so…. but I’ll keep an eye out for reviews on it. Thanks for sharing!

Ooo, I’m totally intrigued by Magnolia. It’s the first I’ve heard of it. Romeo and Juliet is a favorite story of mine, but there’s something about this book that really intrigues me. I am wondering what tragedy she’s trying to overcome.
