END TIMES by Anna Schumacher (WoW #173)

Waiting On Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that everyone’s excited about!

Trumpets announce the End Times, and the God-fearing people of Carbon County are ready to be saved.

But when newcomer Daphne discovers oil on her Uncle Floyd’s land, the area is flooded with oil prospectors, like vultures out for Blood.

A boy, Owen, arrives as well, along with his alluring sister Luna, who moves through town like Fire.

The community prospers, but strange and extraordinary phenomena Plague the area: signs that seem impossible for Daphne to ignore.

With Owen’s help, Daphne discovers there are greater forces at work in Carbon County, more destructive than she can imagine.

The signs keep coming, pointing Daphne to her destiny. . . .

Soon she and everyone else in town must choose who they love and where they stand in this richly-drawn genesis story for an explosive series about the Rapture.

END TIMES releases on May 20th 2014 from Razorbill.

Sounds a little creepy, a little dystopian… I’m in. What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

I hadn’t heard of this before, but this sounds interesting. And different than a lot of apocalyptic/dystopian-type novels out there. I’ll have to check it out!

Even though I’m mentally exhausted from all the apocalyptic/dystopian/post-apocalyptic books…I still can’t stop reading them. Cool title treatment!

Sounds like a cool book, but I’m not that into books with too much religion in them… x)

Oh my. This one sounds cray — this is the first time I’ve heard of it. So weird, and the people are obviously a bit overzealous. Thanks for sharing, Hafsah!
