Whimsical Retellings – A GIF Post

Retellings of Alice in Wonderland. The essence of everything crazy and whimsical.

Who doesn’t love books with an Alice in Wonderland spin-off? The Mad Hatter, the dormouse, the white rabbit and you know the rest. I, for one, have only read two of them (a pity, I know), and that was full of win. The other one… not so much.

Splintered

SPLINTERED by A.G. Howard
I don’t really have much to say on this one, we’ve all heard of it. If you haven’t you are SERIOUSLY MISSING OUT.

Alice

ALICE IN ZOMBIELAND by Gena Showalter
Now this one was rather disappointing. It had way to much romance and no Mad Hatter.

Insanity

INSANITY by Cameron Jace
This sounds awesome. I mean the girl accidentally kills everyone in her class.

White Rabbit

Another modern-day Alice. Yay!

I love Wonderland. Mixed with YA, I’m even more in love. What are some of your favorite whimsical books?

    I haven’t read any of these! D:
I seriously need to get my hands on Splintered.
I really like Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid re-tellings. Tiger Lily was a great book, and I’ve yet to read Mermaid. Come at me, Ariel!

These all look great—I really enjoyed Splintered and I’m definitely going to look into Insanity. But the Wonderland-related book that I am most looking forward to is Marissa Meyer’s Heartless, about the Queen of Hearts as a teenager!!

I have read Splintered and Follow the White Rabbit, and really liked them both! :D
I own Alice in Zombieland, and I was really keen but .. no Mad Hatter? Nooooo. D:
And I simply HAD to add Insanity to my TBR – it looks amazing.
