FAKING NORMAL: Q&A with Courtney C. Stevens Plus Giveaway

Edgy and gripping, FAKING NORMAL focuses on a terrifying real topic in our world. Today, we’re thrilled to have author Courtney C. Stevens as a guest on IceyBooks. We asked Courtney some questions about herself and her debut, and we’re all too eager to share it with you. Stay tuned for the giveaway at the end, courtesy of HarperTeen!

Faking Normal

IceyBooks:  Describe your debut, FAKING NORMAL, in 5-7 words

Courtney Stevens: Pain and bravery live inside me. Bravery wins.

IceyBooks: Many novels are inspired by one sentence or question, was there one that sparked FAKING NORMAL?

Courtney Stevens: Yes, the question, “Why can’t I say no?” was the very first spark.

IceyBooks: Do you have a favorite line that was removed from the original draft of FAKING NORMAL?

Courtney Stevens: I’m not sure it’s my favorite, but … “I don’t want to be dead; I want to be different.”

IceyBooks: Say FAKING NORMAL is being adapted to a movie – who would portray your main character?

Courtney Stevens: That’s so hard because teen stars age out of movies so quickly. If she were still a teen, I’d say Emma Stone would be a great Alexi. After seeing The Perks of Being a Wallflower (which I love) I believe Emma Watson would be amazing as well.

IceyBooks: Give us the three:
Movies you can’t wait to see:

Courtney Stevens Noah, Veronica Mars, Interstellar

IceyBooks: Random facts about you:
Courtney Stevens: I love Jennifer Garner (ALIAS). X-files is my favorite T.V. series of all time. I have 6 tattoos.

IceyBooks: Books you can’t wait to read:

Courtney Stevens: Stand-Off, Ruta Sepetys 3rd book, 100 Sideways Miles
